Terms & Conditions of Arcade Machine and Prop Hire

The following terms and conditions form the basis of the agreement between you (the hirer) and Modern Day Bounce House (the company) for the duration of your hire period. By booking with us, you agree to the following terms in full.

1. Responsibility and Supervision

  • The hirer is responsible for ensuring that all hired arcade machines, props, and equipment are used safely, appropriately, and without damage.

  • A responsible adult aged 18 or over must supervise all hired equipment at all times.

  • Equipment must not be used by anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

  • The hirer must ensure that all users behave appropriately — rough play, climbing, or misuse of machines and props is strictly prohibited.

2. Installation, Movement, and Use

  • Once installed, equipment must not be moved, unplugged, or tampered with under any circumstances.

  • Machines and props must be kept on a flat, stable surface, and away from steps, edges, or uneven flooring.

  • No food, drinks, chewing gum, confetti, glitter, or liquids of any kind are permitted near the equipment.

  • Keep all items away from open flames, heaters, smoke machines (unless agreed in advance), and any water sources.

  • Animals are not permitted near the machines or props.

3. Electrical and Operational Safety

  • All electrical connections and power leads must remain dry and undamaged at all times.

  • Do not use extension leads or power adaptors that were not supplied by Modern Day Bounce House.

  • If a machine stops working or behaves unexpectedly, switch it off immediately and contact us — do not attempt to repair or open the equipment.

  • Cables and plugs must not be tripped over, stood on, or interfered with.

  • Keep children and guests away from all electrical components.

4. Condition, Damage, and Loss

  • All equipment is fully inspected and tested before leaving our warehouse to ensure it is in good working order.

  • The hirer assumes full responsibility for the hired items from the moment they are delivered until they are collected.

  • Any damage, loss, or theft of equipment while on hire will be charged in full, including loss of future hire income during repair or replacement.

  • Props must not be painted, glued, taped, or modified in any way.

5. Refunds, Breakdowns, and Credit Notes

  • We do not offer refunds under any circumstances once the hire period has begun.

  • If a machine becomes faulty during hire, the hirer must inform us immediately.

  • In the rare event that a fault is verified by our technician after collection and is not due to misuse or damage by the hirer, a credit note may be issued at our discretion for future hire use.

  • Credit notes are non-transferable, non-refundable, and valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

  • Modern Day Bounce House is not responsible for any loss of income, disruption, or inconvenience caused by equipment failure, venue issues, or third-party interference.

6. Liability

  • Modern Day Bounce House holds full public liability insurance, covering accidents arising from proven equipment failure.

  • This insurance does not cover negligence, misuse, or deliberate damage by the hirer or event attendees.

  • If damage or injury occurs due to misuse, negligence, or failure to follow these terms, the hirer will be liable for all related costs and claims.

7. Collection and Access

  • The hirer must ensure clear, safe access for delivery, installation, and collection.

  • Failed delivery or collection due to restricted access, parking issues, or venue refusal will still be charged in full.

  • Any additional waiting time may incur an hourly labour charge.

8. General Terms

  • All hire items remain the property of Modern Day Bounce House at all times.

  • We reserve the right to remove or switch off equipment if it is being misused or operated unsafely.

  • Bookings are confirmed only once a deposit or full payment is received. Deposits are non-refundable.

  • These terms are governed by UK law.
